Best Independent Charities in America

The Independent Charities Seal of Excellence is awarded to members of Independent Charities of America that have, upon rigorous
independent review, been able to certify, document, and demonstrate on an annual basis that they meet the highest standards of
public accountability, program effectiveness, and cost-effectiveness. The standards include those required by the U.S. Government
for inclusion in the Combined Federal Campaign, probably the most exclusive fund drive in the world.

Of the 1,000,000 charities operating in the United States today, it is estimated that fewer than 50,000, or 5%, meet or exceed the standards, and of those,
fewer than 2,000 have been awarded this seal.

Segs4Vets Program receives Secretary of the Army's Public Service Award

The Secretary of the Army's Public Service Award was presented to DRAFT's founders  for distinguished public service in providing outstanding support to our nation's Veterans  through the Segs4Vets Program.  Segs4Vets has awarded more than 250 Segways to Veterans who were severely injured while serving our nation in Operations Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom.

The awards were presented by the Department of the Army Under Secretary, the honorable Nelson Ford, on December 9, 2008, during the Segs4Vets presentation ceremonies at the Army Navy Country Club in Arlington, Virginia.

DRAFT Report

Disability Rights Advocates for Technology, DRAFT, represents people with disabilities who refuse to be defined by their disability and whose passionate enthusiasm for participating in life's activities is supported by Universal Design and new and emerging technologies.

We provide advocacy and education services as an advocate for the adoption of Universally Designed Technology Solutions.  We believe they are the only sustainable approach for continued improvement in quality of life issues affecting people with disabilities and senior citizens.

The opportunities these solutions offer for extending the independent life of the baby boomer generation and people with disabilities will provide extraordinary benefits to our society as a whole.

The issues focused on by DRAFT affect every citizen of the United States regardless of age, gender, ethnicity or income level.

DRAFT does not engage outside firms to solicit donations.  All overhead costs associated with our operation are paid by members of our Advisory Board and Board of Directors, allowing 100% of donations to benefit specific programs such as Segs4Vets.

Disability Rights Advocates For Technology is a Public Charity 170 (b) (1) (A) (vi), and is exempt from Federal income tax under section 501 (c) (3) of the Internal Revenue Code.  Donations, bequests, devises, transfers or gifts to DRAFT are tax deductible under section 2055, 2106, or 2522 of the Code.
