Advocates For the Rights of People with Disabilities

DRAFT was founded as a Guardian of the rights of people with disabilities. We are committed to the education of those who unknowingly violate our civil rights, and the exposure of those who continually disregard those rights. Protecting the rights of people with disabilities is the responsibility of all. DRAFT's advocacy program has been an effective champion of the rights of people with disabilities, however it is important for everyone to practice self advocacy.

There is no more effective advocate for yourself, a family member or friend, than YOU.

In order to be an effective advocate you must understand what your rights are under state and federal law. We encourage you to educate yourself by reading the information that is available on our web site, by reading the current news that we provide on the web site and by asking questions and having discussions in our forums.

To assist you we have prepared two documents, which we encourage you to download, have them laminated, and keep them with you. The first document is a NOTICE of the federal law which allows you to utilize the Segway HT as your assistive device. The second document is recommended guidelines for action you should take it if you encounter someone who is violating your rights.
