We are pleased to announce that The Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation has donated $65,000 to the Segs4Vets program in sponsorship of the recently announced 11 members of the United States Marine Corp and a United States Navy Corpsman who was wounded while serving Operation Iraqi Freedom in support of the Marine Corp who will be receiving Segways in the upcoming presentation ceremonies in Washington D.C.
The Foundation said "it is an honor and pleasure for our Foundation to assist these American military heros so that they may have a better life, they sacrificed their lives and bodies to free millions of Afghanistan's and Iraqi children so they may have a much better life and a great education."
Their support was given in honor of Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient Colonel H. C. "Barney" Barnum, USMC (Ret) in recognition of his continuing support of all of our disabled veterans.
The Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation was formed on January 2, 1995 by former Marines and law enforcement personnel who strongly believe that our nation's most precious resource is its youth. Therefore they encourage the spiritual, moral, intellectual and physical development of children through education.
Through the continued support of donors, they have distributed aid with a value of more than $15,000,000 to eligible children. This assistance has been rendered to children of Marines or federal law enforcement personnel who were killed on duty or died under extraordinary circumstances while serving our country at home or abroad.
