We are pleased to announce that The Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation has donated $65,000 to the Segs4Vets program in sponsorship of the recently announced 11 members of the United States Marine Corp and a United States Navy Corpsman who was wounded while serving Operation Iraqi Freedom in support of the Marine Corp who will be receiving Segways in the upcoming presentation ceremonies in Washington D.C.

The Foundation said "it is an honor and pleasure for our Foundation to assist these American military heros so that they may have a better life, they sacrificed their lives and bodies to free millions of Afghanistan's and Iraqi children so they may have a much better life and a great education."

Their support was given in honor of Congressional Medal of Honor Recipient Colonel H. C. "Barney" Barnum, USMC (Ret) in recognition of his continuing support of all of our disabled veterans.

The Marine Corps-Law Enforcement Foundation was formed on January 2, 1995 by former Marines and law enforcement personnel who strongly believe that our nation's most precious resource is its youth. Therefore they encourage the spiritual, moral, intellectual and physical development of children through education.

Through the continued support of donors, they have distributed aid with a value of more than $15,000,000 to eligible children. This assistance has been rendered to children of Marines or federal law enforcement personnel who were killed on duty or died under extraordinary circumstances while serving our country at home or abroad.

We are pleased to announce that the Segs4Vets program has been awarded a grant in the amount of $89,925 from the Texas Resources for the Iraq-Afghanistan Deployment (TRIAD) Fund of the San Antonio Area Foundation.

For more than 40 years, the San Antonio Area Foundation, a publicly supported philanthropic institution, has been administering donors' funds and granting gifts from those funds to worthy charitable causes that significantly enhance the quality of life in the communities that they serve.

Severely injured members of the United States military who have served in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom are in increasing percentages receiving care at Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio. With the opening of the Center for the Intrepid, San Antonio has become the premier destination for the rehabilitation of our severely injured who have served our great nation.

While our severely injured who are receiving care at BAMC have come from communities across the nation many are choosing to make San Antonio their home not only to remain close to cutting-edge medical care and rehabilitative therapy but also recognizing the benefits of living in a community which has a history of recognizing their unique needs and embracing them and their families.

The Segs4Vets program alternates its Presentation Ceremonies between San Antonio, Texas and Washington, DC.

Segs4Vets Receives additional  $44,000.00 from SegVator LLC

In addition to the more than $30,000 in SegVator products awarded to Segs4Vets recipients in 2007 today Jere Fabick and David Strassman, owners of SegVator LLC, presented DRAFT with a check for almost $44,000.00.

While SegVator LLC donates all of their profits to support DRAFT and its Segs4Vets program the amount of their support was made possible through their ability to encourage the donation of virtually all  labor and materials from SegVator suppliers and those involved in the manufacture, assembling and shipping of SegVator Products.

We are grateful for their continued support and to those who purchase SegVator Products.

DRAFT is an all volunteer organization.  We have no employees and do not engage outside firms to solicit donations or conduct direct mail campaigns.

All of the overhead costs associated with our operation are paid by members of our Advisory Board and Board of Directors allowing 100% of donations to the Segs4Vets program to benefit that program.  Neither DRAFT, nor its officers, or the Segs4Vets program receive any financial support from the Segway Corporation.
