Segs4Vets Program awards an additional 46 Segways in the Fall 2007 Awards
Over the last year the Segs4Vets program has awarded 74 Segways to our severely injured from across our Nation who are using the Segways to return to college, participate more fully in activities with family members, excel in their physical therapy and live a full and high-quality life.
In addition to the 44 recipients in ceremonies at the Alamo in San Antonio, Texas on November 7, 2007 and in Washington D.C. on December 5, 2007, the Segs4Vets program in November established a fourth Military Medical Center training and assesment program donating Segways and training Physical Therapists at the Naval Medical Center in San Diego, California

The Segs4Vets program, with a goal of providing Segways to the men and women of the United States military who while serving our country in Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom sustained injuries which resulted in premanent disability and difficulty walking, was conceived by Disability Rights Advocates For Technology “DRAFT” with the assistance of General Ralph “Ed” Eberhart.
General Eberhart, former Commander, North American Aerospace Defense Command, and U.S. Northern Command, retired January 1, 2005 from the United States Air Force, and is President of the Armed Forces Benefit Association headquartered in Alexandria Virginia.
